Live Lab Schedule
Tuesdays | 9:00 AM–11:00 AM
Once a month | September–May
Total Lab Hours: 18 hours for the full year
Tuesdays: 9/8, 10/13, 11/10, 12/8
Tuesdays: 1/12, 2/9, 3/9, 4/13, 5/11
What Students Will Experience
- 7 dissections, including frog and fetal pig
- Microscope work with cells, tissues, and microscopic organisms
- Guided experiments and interactive laboratory investigations
- Instructor microscope camera so students can clearly see what the teacher sees
- Minimal parent workload with no grading required on the parent’s end
EVERYTHING YOU NEED FOR A BIOLOGY LAB
Biology Lab Kit + Manual
Students purchase the required Biology lab kit separately. The kit includes specialized lab materials and a comprehensive lab manual used to document observations and laboratory work throughout the year.
Microscope
A microscope with 4x, 10x, and 40x objectives is required.

Used microscopes may also be available online for less.
Computer + Internet
Students need a computer or laptop, a reliable internet connection, and Zoom capability for live classes.
How Grading & Participation Work
- Cameras remain ON for the duration of class.
- Active participation and answering questions are expected.
- Grading is Pass/Fail and based primarily on participation and attendance.
- Students must attend at least 4 of the 5 live labs each semester to receive a passing grade.
- Lab work is documented in the student lab manual and can be used as work samples for teachers or charter schools.
